A/CEO & Director of Policy, Committee for Sydney
Eamon Waterford is currently the Committee for Sydney’s Acting CEO, an influential business-led urban policy think tank. During his time at the Committee as Head of Strategy and as Director of Policy, Eamon has driven the organisation’s policy development on planning, transport, economic growth and spatial inequality – including championing challenges like affordable housing and Sydney’s second airport. Eamon is also regular commentator in the media on issues affecting Sydney.
Prior to working at the Committee, Eamon was the Head of Policy for Youth Action, the Peak Body for young people, where he worked across social and economic policy affecting 12-25 year olds. His experience spans small and large not-for-profit agencies in the human services industry. Eamon is also a Board member of the NSW Council of Social Services.
Eamon has a passion for identifying economically viable solutions to social problems, where efficiency and equity can achieve better outcomes for our City. Eamon has a Master of Political Economy from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of International Studies from University of NSW.
